Back in 1948, Joe Gore was barely out of high school when he and his brother Bill Gore rented an old livery stable and opened a feed mill. When the mill burned down four years later leaving them with a huge debt, they didn’t give up. Instead, Joe went off to work on construction jobs in Lubbock while Bill drove freight from coast to coast. When they’d earned enough money, they came back to Comanche and re-opened the feed store in its previous location. And, here it stands and thrives over 65 years later.
